My Dear Mr.Padan; Some time ago,at the request of l.Ir.S.B.Babcock,I agreed to act as Judge in a beauty contest. When the photographs were submitted I realized that I had a difficult problem to solvejeach one being that of a pretty and wholesome girl. In order to arrive at a decision I had to take into consideration minor details and after much study made my choice, marking same First;Second;Third &c. I trust that my decision will give satisfaction and that the young ladies will realize that I could not say "Everyone Wins" as I would have liked to. Sincerely yours P. (-¦- In an attempt to make the Sego Lily Queens contest a success and to place the selection beyond petty campus influences, the Utonian has adopted a new plan. Seventy-five girls were entered by their various sororities and classes. A local jury composed of three artists, three photographers, and one business man, selected fifteen girls for the finals. From these fifteen entrants, Miss Lois Wilson, of the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation chose the six who appear in the Utcnian in the order of her selection. It was a difficult task, as Miss Wilson's letter indicates. Portraits of the Queens by Mr. Peter S. ticker of the Berryman Studio |
