Christensen engineering the torture. Wrestling O. A. BARNES, Coach Coach O. A. Barnes, a former University of Illinois grappler, was handicapped this year with the material to work on but the limited number of wrestlers that did report this year found the daily instructions and workouts beneficial and interesting. This year a fine sweater was awarded to first place winners in an intercollegiate match. Only three won the coveted prizes, Obed Haycock, Frank Crosby and Wallace Dunham. The experience of the Aggies and "Y" wrestlers was too much for the Utes and they finished third in the state meet held at Logan, March 3. Gibson, Call and Haycock placed for the Crimson in this meet, won by the A. C. On February 19, the Crimsonites invaded Provo for a dual meet with the Cougars and lost a close fight, 18 to 13. Cliff Dunham, Frank Crosby and Obed Haycock won the 158, 145 and 135 pound weight class in the meet refereed by Henry Jones, prominent Utah grappler. The following men worked out with their coach throughout the season: 115 pounds, A Gibson, H. Harrison, ,N. Westerfield; 125 pounds, W. Hardy and B. Lyon; 135 pounds, O. Call and O. Haycock;; 1^5 pounds, F. Crosby and C. Sayer; 158 pounds, Cliff Dunham and A. Nelson; 175 pounds, G. Snow, H. Metos and W. Christensen. Page Two Hundred Thirty-one |
