The annual Freshman dance, "The Haunted Hop," given during the Hallowe'en season was a huge success. The Frosh play, "Just Suppose," merited the approval of the entire student body. The annual pushball contest was awarded to the Sophmore class, as usual, but the Frosh offered plenty of stiff competition. The class entered a splendid basketball team in the tournament and defeated a number of aggregations both on the campus and from other schools. The debating team was very active, and received favorable decisions in a majority of the contests entered. Members of the class have been active in musical and literary fields, the Freshman Engineers furnishing the band for Saint Patrick's Day. The logs for the annual pilgrimage to the emblem on the hill were furnished by the class, as well as a novelty act which was favorably received. The class has been represented in every contest on the campus: The Union Building Drive, Utonian sales, Utah Songbook, and beard-growing for U day. The class distinguished itself on the annual whitewash of the emblem by its cooperation, despite the fact that ducking had been abolished. |
