Show H Rltab 28, (Wyoming o The Crimson trimmed the Cowboys in true "Notre Dame" style as the history of ,November 15th will show. The 28 to 0 score was a source of much satisfaction and here's why. The Aggies beat Wyoming 25 to 2. ,Nuff sed or shall we explain? Mathematical professors after carefully examining the comparative scores of the two games might have assumed that Utah would beat the Aggies 5 to 0, or at least by a five point margin, but here was one problem where "x" was unknown and remained so until after the Thanksgiving Day battle. On the other hand optimistic Crimson rooters confidently prophecied that the Red Devils would win from the northern institution because they defeated Wyoming by a better score. Our source of satisfaction is not that we have solved "x" or that our margin of difference in the two scores gave us the edge in the Turkey Day struggle. But it is in the fact that we did do better than the Aggies and any time that we accomplish something better than our rivals do, it doesn't hurt our feelings a bit. As to the Wyoming game, Utah's four touchdowns, two made by Jewkes, one by Livingston and Rock, were the result of spectacular runs, with the exception of that score counted by Rock. Rock plunged over the final touchdown. Captain Jewkes long high strides carried him for the two scintilating dashes of tackle, one of 45 and the other of 25 yards, for the first markers of the game. The final game of the 1924 football season was with the Aggies. Everything depended upon it- a successful year or otherwise. Read the old tale on the next page. Page. Two Hundred Sixteen |
