Show 1 T i 8 B p K rack, CAPTAIN "ROCKY" MILLER At the beginning of the season Roscoe Miller was elected captain of the track team, and since that day he has quelled any doubts about his ability as a leader. Always the first to report, Rocky has been a model athlete. What was expected to be rather a dark year for Utah track and field appears fairly promising at the time of this writing, due to the never-ending and untiring efforts of Captain Miller. Rocky received his first training at Murray high school, where he developed the "sand" that goes up to make a good half-miler. Although he had not attained his growth, he clipped the 800 yard run off in something less than 2 minutes and 3 seconds. This in itself, is fast for college runners and his performance gave indication of a great middle-distance runner. This year Coach Fitzpatrick intends to use Miller in the 440 as well as the relay in addition to his race, the 880. Here's success to you, Rocky-both to you and your team!
