Show •¦¦¦/¦¦- ¦¦ e 0, Colorado Colleg Do you remember that feeling that comes over you when the much expected Christmas gift fails to arrive? That's just the way we felt on October 11 when Colorado College got away with our first conference game of the year. Nine to nothing was the score. Now when you see the postman coming up the steps of the House of Crimson with a nice fat package labeled touchdown in capital letters and just as he reaches the door have him turn around, retrace his steps, cross the street and deliver it to the Tiger's home, then the disappointment is hard to take. Utah was slow in starting and before we knew it, C. C. scraped the top of the goal-post with a drop-kick registering three points. Had the underclassmen been more precautious and added an extra coat of paint to that post the old pigskin might have balked at going over. Well, to make a long story short, the Red Devils began a drive in the final period that netted them forty yards in about seven plays. As we neared the Tiger, goal a daring pass fell into the arms of an agile C. C. back who raced three-quarters of the field for the only touchdown. It wouldn't have been so bad only if memory serves us correctly it was the same team that "did us dirt" last year and gummed up our chances for the championship just when we were "sitting pretty" on a 6 to 0 lead and five minutes to go. A long pass, a longer run and we came out second best. Were we down-hearted? Well, see what happened to our next opponents! Page Two Hundred Twelve |
