Show Specifications are being prepared for four series capacitor stations to be installed in the two Glen Canyon-Pinnacle Peak, Arizona lines. Two of these stations are to be installed just north of the Flagstaff Substation - one in each line - and the other two stations will be installed just north of the Pinnacle Peak Substation, one in each line. These capacitor stations will increase the power capacity of the Bureau of Reclamation's and the Arizona Public Service Company's transmission lines by improving stability and by better balancing of the power flows. Since the Arizona Public Service Company will share in the benefits from the capacitor stations, the Company will own and pay for one of the Pinnacle Peak stations. The Bureau will design, construct, operate, and maintain all four stations. Construction of the capacitor stations is expected to begin in April 1969, with a planned completion date of March 1970. Power Marketing Revenue from the sale of Colorado River Storage Project power reached new highs in the year ended September 30, 1967, exceeding $1.5 million in each of the months of July, August, and September 1967. Power is being marketed in Regions 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Bureau of Reclamation which includes the States of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona, and parts of California and Nevada. At the end of the 1967 summer season a total of 78 customers, including nonpreference customers, were under contract. Preference customer contracts generally guarantee that the Storage Project will supply the 1970-71 power requirements for a 20-year period. Contracts are now being revised for all preference customers desiring to extend the obligation of the United States to supply 1975-76 requirements. Power sales contracts with nonpreference customers are for less than five years and contain provisions for extension of contract and withdrawal of power upon advance written notice. As of September 30, 1967, a total of 955,550 kw were under contract for the summer season of 1970 and 713,154 kw were under contract for the winter season of 1970-71. During the year ended September 30, 1967, revenues from power sales exceeded $15,000,000. Cumulative revenues from power sales from the initial date of generation to September 30, 1967, are $33,724,000. E.
