Show Record 3090 some big rock has been washed in. On one side of the river there is a sort of point, an obstruction to the flow of the river, and the sand bar would form on the opposite side of the river. Our home was located on the same side of the stream as the side wash 3091 and projection of which I have spoken. I remember Nathaniel Galloway and have seen him come down the river a number of times; I don't remember how many times, two or three times. He was a trapper and hunter. Once in a while there would be a trapper and hunter come in. I don't recall their names, except I remember that Bort Loper cam down once. However I remember of several other trappers and hunter who came down the river during my exper-ience there; once in a while one would come. When I say come 3092 down the river, I mean they came down on the water. The first one I remember seeing come down was when I was about fifteen years old. His name was Mesca. Later Mr. Galloway came down, and then there were two other men who came down. These are all I remember before my father left. After I returned to Lee's Ferry, I again saw Galloway and have a distinct recollection of seeing three other trappers besides him since I returned and up until 3093 1923. Galloway would come down trapping for foxes or anything he could catch that way. There was one old man, whose name I don't remember, who came down just for the thrill. Another man came down and went right on by. I saw the Kolb brothers. Those are the only ones I remember going down since I went back in 1910. Frank T. Johnson testified on redirect examination as follows: 3094 When Mr. Galloway came down the first time there was another man with him. I can't remember the kind of boat they had. They stayed for some time at Lee's Ferry and I don't recall where 3095 they went from there, but they left their boats and we kept them for several years; they were small open boats that Mr. Galloway had made himself, decked over with canvas, as I remember, with the place where he sat left open.
