Show Record the place where we got off and walked to Moab during the winter of 1926, at a point a mile and a half or two miles above Frank 2997 Shafer camp, it was between eight and miles to Moab. The Moab boat landing was a trifle over three miles from the town of Moab. As a rule my car was left at the Moab dock, so that I wouldn't 2998 have had to walk that distance from the dock into town. I didn't leave my car at the dock and if I had gone to the dock on the boat it would have been necessary for me to send to town and get 2999 my car. A number of times I left my car at the dock. There were two or three points on the river between the dock and Kane Creek that during that later period, 1927 and 1928, gave us quite regular trouble; at times the channel would out through, but at other times it would be very shallow. In response to questions propounded by the Special Master Mr. Dugan testified as follows: At the times I speak of the Moab Garage was not operating regularly, but it was operating and came through the places I men- 3003 tion. Our company had supplies such as fuel, gasoline; camp sup-plies, repairs and some drilling equipment brought down on the barge, and the heavy drilling equipment had previously been brought down on the barge. The only well drilled down in that section in which my company was not interested was the Snowden- McSweeny well, |
