Show Record 3103 pumps at Marysvale and they were hauled to Lee's Ferry, one of the boilers going on to the mouth of Warm Creek. Messrs. Spencer, Parkins and some Englishmen went to Lee's Ferry with me. In the 3104 fall of 1910 I went to San Juan country in the employ of the American Placer Corporation, going to a place on the river thirty- five miles downstream from Mexican Hat. I acted as assistant fireman on the boat called the Charles Spencer; that was on its second trip from Warm Creek to Lee's Ferry. I Left Warm Creek 3105 at about one o'clock and got to Lee's Ferry the next day about four. On the trip we were stuck on sand bars and we could not handle the boat until we put a big log chain on it, which we dragged out in front to hold the nose of the boat straight up the river.
