Memorandum to Commissioner of Indian Affairs The tribal councils of Utes met in General Council to discuss rights and interest in 4 million acres of lands now withdrawn and classed as opened, unsold tribal land in western Colorado. B., Agent- in- Charge, Towaoc Letter to S. F. Stacher, Supt., Con. Ute Agency During Ute Mt. Ute Council meeting on Nov. 3, Utes were unwilling to discuss resolution and bylaws and requested assistance from their lawyer. The Ute Mt. Utes also refused to go to Mescalero to meet on Nov- 15 and to involve themselves in any way with Utes at Blanding. Cutting requests advise on these matters.
