Price, Commissioner of Indian Affairs Price informs the commissioner of three killings that have occurred recently, but that " at present the Indians are all quiet and aperntly ( sic) well satisfied." Ute Agency, Ignacio, Colorado Copy of telegram informing Patten of the murder of Peter Tracy by several Utes and a Navajo. He asks Patten if the Utes are out of provisions. FRC/ RG 7 5 Sept. 1, 1883 Stanley, Colonel Commanding, Fort Lewis, Colorado Telegram to Warren Patten, Indian Agent, Ignacio Stanley gives Patten more details on the murder of Peter Tracy. The Sore Leg, a Navajo, is accused of shooting Tracy. Stanley suggests that Ignacio should gather all the facts before any action is taken. A copy of telegram is attached.
