Show Tribal Government - 703 NA/ RG75/ 63829- 1938- Con Ute 031 July 3, 1942 Mills, George, Chairman Minutes, Ute Mountain Tribal Council Prospector wants rights to prospect and ship ore to Durango. Ute labor could be used if ore is discovered. ( Attached second page is not part of the document.) July 3, 1942 Baker, Carl, Secretary Minutes, Ute Mountain Tribal Council Received a proposal to prospect and perhaps lease land from a Mr. Wade. Permission was granted by the council. Frances Buck resigned as secretary and Carl Baker appointed. NA/ RG75/ 41927- 1937- Con Ute 919 Oct. 9, 1942 Craig, Mary, Acting Secretary Minutes, Ute Mountain Tribal Council Letter from Asst. Commissioner Zimmerman was read concerning relief and restricted funds. The council was informed that railroads are looking for laborers, as are lumber mills and logging outfits. Elections for council members set. Jack House complained of school health situation.
