Lewis School Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Supt. acknowledges receipt of letter re: negotiations for the cession of Mesa Verde. Reference to enclosed map of area. The Supt. requests time schedule to conduct such negotiations. Feb. 27, 1904 Supt., Ft. Lewis School Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Supt. requests authorization to proceed with negotiations with Utes re: cession of Mesa Verde. He requests copies of Ute treaty of Act. of May 1, 1888 and any other relevant treaties. 1905 Custer, Burton B., Supt. & Spl. Disb. Agent Annual Report of the Dept. of the Interior Fiscal Year ended June 30, 1905 Agent gives condition of the reservation for past year and stats of funds held in trust, receipts and disbursements on account of Indian lands, income of tribe, population and educational statistics in regards to the Colorado Utes. S. S. # 4959 Feb. 23, 1905 Supervisor in Charge, So. Ute Agency Letter to Col. David F. Day, Durango Information is requested about promises made when lands were allotted and ditches were built.
