Show Reservations - 607 May 14, 1884 21 Stat. 204 Congressional act repealing section 8 of the act entitle " An act to accept and ratify the agreement submitted by the confederated bands of Ute Indians in Colorado...", dated June 15, 1880. Ute Agency Wagon toll- road to be constructed across So. Ute Reservation, according to XIV article of the treaty between the U. S. and Confederated Bands of Ute Indians dated March 2, 1868. Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs The agent reports that Bridgent Jack, the chief of the Pah Utes, requests that a reservation be laid out for his band in the Blue Mountains in the S. Peters, House of Representatives Gillespie complains that the proposed Southern Ute reservation is land on which he and his partners have staked out mining claims. He asks that the boundaries be redefined, as the So. Utes do not need so much land and they are unable to live peaceably next to whites. Attached is a letter of recommendation for Mr. Gillespie.
