Weaver, Agent, Tierra Amarilla, N. M. Reports receiving letter updating progress in construction of buildings and proposed bill for removal of Indians. May 3, 1878 Statutes at Large The President is authorized to enter negotiations with the Ute Indian to consolidate bands under agency at the White River and for the extinguishment of their right to the southern portion of their reservation in the state of Colorado. June 26, 1878 (?), acting commissioner Letter to Francis H. Weaver, Indian Agent, Tierra Amarilla, N. M. Agent is informed of arrival of Ute negotiators, who will consolidate Ute bands into one agency and extinguish their rights to the southern portion of the reservation.
