Ute Agency Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs George Bent, Buckskin Charley, and Charles Shoshoni request pensions on account of their having enlisted as soldiers in the U. S. Army in 1866 or 1867, during which time they helped subdue the Kiowa Indians. Werner requests that the pensions be paid. Aug. 22, 1918 McKean, E. E., Supt., So. Ute Agency Letter to the Commissioner of Indian Affairs Comments on news articles reporting Ute Mountain Ute resistance to draft.
