Show Relations with Non- Indians - 543 Dec. 4, 1894 Day, David F., Agent, Southern Ute Agency Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Brigham Young, Jr. agrees with Agent Day that troubles in southern Utah are the result of the cowboys and the renegade Indians, that Southern Utes with some exception cause no problems. Ute Agency Telegram to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Press reports cowboys will fire upon Indians on unsurveyed land, confirming Indian Agent and Gen. McCook's report that cowboys are disturbing element in San Juan County. Agent will leave for Blue Mountain and report on conditions. NA/ RG 7 5 Dec. 5, 1894 Ogden, Charles H. Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Ogden states that Colorado people are responsible for Indian trouble in San Juan County, Utah, hoping to remove the Indians and gain the land of the Utes.
