Show Water - 73 0 Oct. 23, 1922 Justification Review needs of Ute Mountain Indians to develop livestock industry. Funds are to be used to develop water sources. E., Special Supervisor Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Reports inspection of Ute Mountain Reservation. Desert land has no water for irrigation so agriculture not a viable occupation; raising cattle probably not profitable because no place to grow hay. Sheep and goats, therefore, should be produced; not much can be done for the Indians beyond providing a school for them. Springs and seeps need to be developed to supply water.
