Show Treaties and Agreements - 662 Mar. 23, 1883 Stevens, E. L., Acting Commissioner Letter to Warren Patten, Agent, So. Ute Agency Stevens informs the agent that $ 14,022.54 has been deposited in a Denver bank and is to be paid per capita to the Southern Ute Indians, according to treaty dated March 6, 1880. Mar. 23, 1883 Teller, (?), Secretary of the Interior Letter to Warren Patten, Agent, So. Ute Agency Permission is given to use the $ 533.33 owed to the Southern Utes as gratuity money for those who send their children to the Fort Collins school. Sept. 21, 1883 Teller, H. M., Secretary of Interior Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Teller reports the disbursement of funds to the various Ute bands, ( text is difficult to read) Nov. 21(?) , 1883 Teller, H. M., Secretary of the Interior Letter to Warren Patten, So. Ute Agency Teller reminds Patten that $ 10,000 of the interest owed to the Utes is to be used for education. The remainder is to be disbursed as a per capita payment once a year in January. 1884 Report of the Secretary of the Interior Schedule showing the names of Indian reservations in the U. S., agencies, tribes occupying or belonging to the reservation, area of each reservation in acres and square miles, and reference to treaty, law, or other authority by which reservations were established.
