H., Commissioner of Indian Affairs Letter to Edward E. McKean States that a letter soliciting questions from the Native American Church has been sent to Indians on the Ute Mountain Reservation. Wants steps taken to discourage use of peyote. Enclosed: Copy of letter ( unsigned). Jan. 19, 1925 McKean, E. E., Supt., Con. Ute Agency Letter to Edward L. A. Smith, Post Office Inspector Peyote was found in a raid on Harry Richard's house but the original wrapper with stamps, etc., was not found. A letter from White was found stating that the peyote was being shipped. Will support the Post Office in preventing peyote from reaching the Ute jurisdiction.
