Woodard, State Game & Fish Commissioner, Denver, Colorado The commissioner responds to Woodard's complaint that Utah and New Mexico Indians are hunting in Colorado, contrary to Colorado state law. The commissioner informs Woodard that the agents overseeing the Navajo, Southern Ute and Jicarilla agencies have been notified of his complaint and asked to persuade the Indians to remain on the reservation. Lewis School Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Peterson relays information re: shipment of Indian material and artifacts to education exhibit in St. Louis. Lewis School Letter to Commissioner of Indian Affairs Peterson asks if Mancos Jim, who has lived for many years on a piece of land off the Southern Ute Reservation, can be protected from squatters who are trying to get him off the land. |
