Cavalry, San Juan River, Utah Letter to Mr. Dole Guilfoyle informs Dole that he has received Doyle's communication on the matter of Tracy's murder. The letter had apparently been opened prior to Guilfoyle's receipt of it and he asks Dole to investigate the matter. FRCD/ RG 75 Sept. 9, 1883 Guilfoyle, John T., 1st Lt., U. S. Cavalry, San Juan River, Utah Letter to Stephen A. Dole Guilfoyle informs Dole that the Navajos are accusing the Ute and Piutes of Tracy's murder, however, he believes the Navajo are responsible. He suggests that Dole let the Utes know what the Navajo are saying about them. In regard to the previous " vandalized" letter, Guilfoyle has discovered it was opened by " native Americans," who he claims are as bad as the Indians. FRCD/ RG 7 5 (?), 1884 Hailish (?), (?)
