Fur rather soft, pale yellowish brown; back and front of legs with a few scattered black hairs; beneath whitish; ears rather long. Hab. West Africa : Gambia. Length of skull 5| ; height at occiput 2f; width at condyles 2|; length from orbit to end of maxillary 2f ; length of nasals 1| inches. 12. CEPHALOPHUS WHITFIELDII. Fur soft, yellowish ash ; shoulders, outside of limbs, and hind part of back rather darker ; hair ashy grey, brown at the ends, with yellow tips. Hab. West Africa : Gambia. Js.M. 13.
