Alee supra fere velut in I. evippe; fascia autem aurantiaca angustiore magis undata, introrsum ad cellce finem profunde incisa : posticce fascia marginali angulis alternis profunde sep-temundata : corpus viridi-einereum, abdomine a latere fiavido. Alee subtus saturatius flavee, immaculatee. Exp. alar. une. 3. Labuan (Lowe). B.M. Nearly allied to I. evippe of Drury (rhexia, Fabr., and, possibly, ludekingii, Vollenhoven), but with the costa of fore wings more produced. IXIAS LATIFASCIATUS, sp. n. (Plate XIX. fig. 3.) _T. Affinis I. sesiae, magnitudine I. anexibiae; differt fascia marginali alarum posticarum duplo latiore et introrsum apud apicem tridentata. Alee subtus undique fusco reticulatis; fascia discali nebulosa maculari fusca : anticce macula magna discocellulari, venis plagaque triangulari anali nigro-fuscis: postica? macula costali aliisque venas terminantibus nebulosis et puncto discocellulari nigro-fuscis; punctis quatuor inconspicuis discalibus aurantiacis : corpus flavum. Exp. alar. une. 2, lin. 6. ?. Alee anticce fuscce, plaga magna interna triangulari lactea; fascia fulva bimaculata velut in I. sesia §, posticce ladeee ; fascia lata marginali apud apicem introrsum tridentata, fusca : corpus cinereum. Alee subtus fere velut in mare. Exp. alar. une. 2, lin. 6. Moulmein (Clerk). B.M. Allied to the preceding species and to I. sesia, Fabr. ; in the dusky hatchings of the under surface, it differs from all the species hitherto described. Vollenhoven's T. ludekingii looks to me like a faded, or, perhaps, an albino male of /. evippe. |
