Cnshway & Do. l l avi~~figle d the bond of $50,000 required by t,he Commissioner of Indian Affairs with the a.pproval of the Secretary of the I~rterior, some seventy-eight contracts wit11 allottees* mere approved by this ofice. The Department also approved the selection of a mill site on unallotted lands with a, right of 1ra.y for 2-mile side track to connect said mill site with the Milweokee, Lake Shore and Western Ra,ilroad, which passes through the reservation. No contracts for the sale of dead ant1 down timber on the nnnlloted lands of the reservation during the season of 1892-'93, were presented to the office for approval, but I llilve recently received a contract for the sale of dead and dowu timber dnring tile season of 1893-'94. No reply to this recommendation has yet been received. IRRIGATION. Correspondence has been had with contractors regarding the exeeu-tion of thd work, and August 15, 1893, this office recommended that the agents for the rest:rvations named be authorized to employ labor to sink the wells.
