Approved March 2nd, 1850. AN ORDINANCE Creating a Surveyor GeneraFi Office, &C. PASSED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, MARCH 2ND, 1850. Sec. 1. Be it ordained by the General Assembly of the State of Deseret, That a Surveyor General for the State How electeii-shall be elected by the General Assembly, whose term of office shall be four years, and until his successor is qualified. Sec. 2. The Surveyor General shall take an oath of Oath k bon(i office,, and give bond to be approved by the Secretary of State; and filed in his office. Sec. 3. The Surveyor General shall keep his office at Duties, the Seat of Government, and keep a record of all surveys made by hiiftself or reported to him by other Surveyors, in a book suitable for the purpose. He. shall also have a general superintendence and supervision of all surveys of land, made within the State. Sec 4. It shall be the duty of the Surveyor General, «>¦»*•* and all County Surveyors, to supervise all surveys made in their respective jurisdictions, that the same may be accurate, and no report shall be filed for record, until the same shall be certified to, by the Surveyor General,-or County Surveyor, as being correct. Sec. 5. All surveys made in this State, shall be made ruio of to'correspond with the original survey of Great Salt Lake p«!s<?SSI01" City, and in all new surveys, certificates approved by authorized surveyors shall be considered title of possession, to the holding of the same, for the amount of land therein described. Approved March 2nd, 1850.
