Approved January 21st, 1853. JOINT EESOLUTION To chaDge the name of William McPherson to William Mac. Resolved by the Governor and Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Utah, That'whereas William Macpherson of Great Salt Lake City, Merchant, has petitioned to have his name changed to William Mac, the prayer of said petitioner is hereby granted. Approved January 21st, 1853. MEMORIAL TO CONGRESS For extra salary to be paid to the Hon. Z. Snow, Associate Judga of the Supreme Court of the United States for Utah Territory. To the Honorable, the Senate and House of Representatives, in Con - gress Assembled: Your memorialists, the Governor and Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Utah, respectfully represent unto your honorable bodies, that owing to the wanton departure from their duties of the officers originally appointed for th's Territory, it becomes indispensibly necessary to insure good order, promote the peace and happiness of society, and secure the protection of public and private rights, for the Legislative Assembly to pass an Act, requiring the Hon. Z. Snow to attend to all the Judicial business in the three Districts. This law was enacted, and will be found in our Statutes already certified to the general government.
