Show Brunch Sunday, June 20, 1948 Hotel Eccles Logan Utah (9) 74/ - Following the brunch, corsages were given Letha Spencer, Norma Wright, and Vir ginia Dickerson, district directors, responsible for organizing 5 new clubs in the Utah Federation. Musio was furnished by Uerlyn Yfu.atcott and the Bel Canto group. The following were then presented as victors in the election of state officers Leah Merrill of Logan, President; Susanne Mae Grua of Salt Lake City, First Vice president; Mattie Pendleton of St. George, second Vice-president; C. Jean Shonka of Brigham City, Recording Secretary; Eva Bentley of Salt Lake City, Treasurer; May Bliss of Price, Historian; and Vera Tate of Tooele, Virginia Dickerson of Salt Lake City, and Lyle Carda11 of Logan as members of the Candidate Data Committee. Anne Price Williams, State of be five Membership Chairman, then recognized the presidents Midvale, Murray, Tremonton, Bingham, and Kanab and newly organized clubs - a candle installation for them followed. I Beatrice Brown, chairman of the Resolutions committee gave the following report "Whereas, the delightful hospitality and efficient management which have made this twenty-fifth annual convention of the Utah Federation of Business and Pro fessional Women's Clubs a notable success, therefol be it RESOLVED: That we extend our cordial thanks to the members of the Logan club, especially our Convention Ohafman imry C. Kearsley and Logan's President, Lyle H. Cardall for the arrangemnts and excellent manner in which this convention has been pUmned and carried out; , Resolved that a use To the Utah state Agricultural College for the of the beautiful Commons building; And to Miss Una on appreCiation be mailed by the Federation to the follaw considerations, and favors have made possible the success letter of whose facilities, and of this convention: Saturday; courtesy extended in granting the Vermillion, Manager of the College Cafeteria for the Luncheon That a vote of thanks be given to Mayor Curtis L. Miner, for his cooperation and his presence at our opening session; That the press and radio, the Herald Journal - Mayor of Logan City the Salt Lake Tribune and the Deseret NeW's be accorded our -thanks and Mr. Reed Bullen of Radio Sta"Gion KVNU for his cooperation; That our thanks go to the Cache Valley Banking Company of Logan, the First National Bank of Logan, and the First Security ank of Logan for the eautiful flowers sent to the Convention Hall, lrllich have added beauty and sentlment to our set ting here; That thanks be extended to Hotel Eccles, the Bluebird, Old Juniper Lodge, aid the Capitol Theatre far the use of their facilities; to the Cook Transportation Co. for its busses to Old Juniper Lodge; |
