Show First General Session Commons Building Logan, Utah June 19, 1948 9:15 a.m. (4) - - Meeting called to order by President Lunt. Dr. Daryl Chase, Dean of :Men at the Utah State the invocation. Loveta Wallace of the Agricultural College, offerred Logan club led the group in community singing. President Lunt introduced Miss of Business 8ld Professional Women's Sally Butler, National and International: President Clubs, Inc. Honorable. Curtis L. Miner, Mayor of Logan gave an address of welcome." and the response was given by Musa I. DeMouth, newly elected Salt Lake City club President. Minutes of the last general session of the Utah Federation were read and approved as read. Gertrude Bentley, Credentials Oommittee Chairman, reported on the number of delegates present and reported a quorum. Elizabeth E. Tillotson, Rules Oommittee Chairman, gave the rules for the conduct of the convention and moved they be accepted. This was seconded by Beatrice Brown. Motion carried. Anna E. Erickson was named as timekeeper_ Convention Cha trrnan .Amy Kearsley reparted that the beautiful' flowers throughout the room were courtesies of the three Logan banks. She also asked that members be considerate of mail addressed to tl;l.em and answer let·ters. . . Miss Mary Jean Sorenson played two piono solos. Eva Bentley, Treasurer, read her report as printed in the convention issue of flForward TogetherU which showed a balance of $h54.12. She moved this report be accepted by the group subject to an official audit. Seconded by Juanita Shirts. Carried. The gavel was then turned over to the first viae-president, Leah :Merrill, while President Lunt gave her report. She moved her report be accepted as read. 'was seconded by Anna E. Erickson. Carried. This tlI hereby reconaeend that President Lunt made tvTO recommendations; the first Utah Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs publish eight numbers of the State Bulletin, instead of 'liwo, "with some appropriate advertising, if necessary to meet extra expenses; for the purpose of disseminating important messages and interesting Federation news, to keep all members informed of the State and Club. activities and to create a friendly inter-club relation. n She madethe motion this Carried.
