UTAH 84101 TELEPHONE 801 } 533-5755 Lehi City Lehi , Utah 84043 Dear Si rs : It is my distinc t pl easure to infonn you that on rlarch 1 ~. 1982 the Lehi City Hall at 51 North Center Street, nominated by the Historic and Cultural Sites Review Committee and the Utah State Historic Preservation Officer, was officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the National Park Service and Ms. Carol Schull, Acting Keeper of the National Register. i The National Register of Historic places is the official list of historic properties recognized by the Federal Government as worthy of preservation for their significance in American history, architecture, arche ology ~ enginee ri ng and culture. Located in the National Park Service , Department of the Interior, the program is part of a national policy to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect our cultural and natural resources, and is maintained by the Secretary of the Interior under provisions of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. Listing in the National Register provides t he following benefits to historic properti es: -Considerati on in the planning for federally assisted projects. Section 106 of the Nat ional Hi sto ric . Pre servation Act of 1966 provides that the Advisory Counc i l on Historic Preservation be given an opportunity to comment on projects affecting such properti es. -Eligibility for Federal tax benefits for rehabilitations of certain historic commercial, industrial and residential rental building s. -Consideration of historic values in the decisi on to issue a surface coal mining permit where coal is located, in accord with the Surface Mining and Control Act of 1977.
