Show INTERVIEW: Garcia Page 14 the bands from? RG: Oh let's see, I think the band, the last band they had here came from Colorado, and then they had a couple of bands from Price. GC: So Price has ... RG: Oh yeah, Price has dances, Helper has dances. GC: Now, what's the difference between Price, Helper, and here as far as the Spanish speaking people are concerned? RG: Well, I think the Spanish people up there are more open, you know. They're more, they're known, they're not scared to have a dance or you know, they have their own gettogethers and that; down here there's not that many to have a dance, you know, but up there they have dances in Helper, see, they have a great big auditorium and they draw people from all the little coal mining camps around there. They draw people from Price, they draw people from Castlegate, they draw people from Kenilworth, Spring Glen, Hiawatha, East Carbon, Dragerton, Sunnyside, so they have a bigger crowd there. They're not limited in their people. They have some good bands. A lot of the anglos go too, for the music. GC: How's the interrelation problem there, or is there one? How's the, how do the people get along, say the Spanish |
