BE: Several of them here, Bob has, Vicki's dad, had offered several of them scholarships, you know, to go to school, and they've just, well they've just ignored it practically. Well at first they say, okay that's fine we'd love to have that, you know, and then when it comes right down to it, they just ignore it. They should appreciate something like that regardless of who's giving it to them. VE: I'll give you an example if you don't let somebody hear this. You won't let anybody hear it around here, will you? B1: Oh no, if you want to use names ... VE: Well, this person, and you've interviewed her tonight ... BM: You shouldn't use any names. VE: This is a Spanish girl. And her daughter wanted to go to college and they didn't have the money. He was making good pay at the mines, but they didn't have the money. And like, she was completely involved in SOCIO, she really was. She was a good member of SOCIO. And her husband said, "We cannot afford to send her to school." They've got like five kids at home, and they're, you know, plus the big ones that were ready to go to college. So Dad set her all up at Westminster in Salt Lake. And Dad said, "All you· |
