EN: Did they kick them out, or ... ? BE: Right. EN: The Mormon community? BE: Not necessarily the Mormon community, just the community, period. EN: The community. VE: I'd said that was because like when Grandpa came here, you know, with his parents, and so on and so forth, there wasn't that many Mexicans, they didn't know the culture at that time, they didn't know ... culture at the time, they hadn't seen very many Mexicansat the time. They'd heard like of and stuff like this, but they'd never been to them. They'd never heard, like I said, of the culture or the race. And then, and then when Mother came into her race, well there had been enough Mexicans move in that time, they needed well like I said, it was during the Depression ... a lot of the Mexicans got some of their poultry and all this stuff, you know, I was talking about milk and bread and stuff, |
