Show D-10 (b) (Cont'd.): Notice of water appropriation dated August 1, 1912 and recorded August 3, 1912 in Book 8, page 217, Miscellaneous Records by 0. L. Grimsley for 10,000,000 miners inches of underground stream and flood waters from underground lake. (Notice does not state Colorado River) Notice dated April 7, 1887, and recorded April 8, 1887 in Book 1 of Pre-emption page 49, by John W. Dorrlngton and Geo. W. Norton for construction of canal large enough to irrigate 200,000 acres of land and located on the left bank of the Colorado River lying between the Gila City side track of the Southern Pacific Railroad and running between the United States and Mexican border. Notice dated February 12, 1890 and recorded February 12, 1890 in Book 1, page 58 of pre-emptions by Chas. E. Spencer and P. G. Cotter at point of location for site for head of canal to take water from Colorado River and for pumping plant to raise water from said river to supply canal. Said canal shall commence at this point and run in a southwesterly direction along base of Mesa for about two and one-fourth miles where it will divide into two branches, one to continue along base of mesa and other branch to run down the center of the valley lying between the mesa and Colorado River. Said canals will terminate on Colorado River about twenty miles from the Village of Yuma, Yuma County, Arizona Territory. |
