Show 15 1 constitution of Arizona, hut the Secretary of the Interior is 2 authorized on behalf of the United States to exercise such 3 of said rights and powers as may be necessary or convenient 4 for the eonstniction and use of the works herein authorized 5 and for carrying out the purposes of this Act. 6 Sec. 9. That all lands of the United States found by 7 the Secretary of the Interior to be practicahle of irrigation 8 and reclamation by the irrigation works authorized herein 9 shall be withdrawn from public entry. Thereafter, at the 10 direction of the Secretary of the Interior, such lands shall be 11 opened for entry, in tracts varying in size but not exceeding 12 one hundred and sixty acres, as may be determined by the 13 Secretary of the Interior, in accordance with the provisions 14 of the reclamation law, and any such entryman shall pay an 15 equitable share in accordance with the benefits received, as 16 determined by the said Secretary, of the eonstniction cost of 17 said canal and appurtenant stnictures; said payments to be 18 made in such installments and at such times as may be speci- 19 Tied by the Secretary of the Interior, in accordance with the 20 provisions of the said reclamation law, and shall constitute 21 revenue from said project and be covered into the fund heroin 22 provided for: Provided. That all persons who have served 23 in the United States Army, Navy, or Marine Corps during 24 the war with Germany, the war with Spain, or in the sup- 25 pression of the insurrection in the Philippines, and who have |
