Show UTO N I A NNineteen TwelveThe 'Varsity Fussers(By permission of Rudyard Kipling)I'VE seen a lot of loving in my time, And some of it was love and some was not. Among lovers, good and bad, of every clime, The "U" fussers are the finest of the lot. When the dandelion blossoms first peep out, From his books the Pusser turns with eager vim. In his brain all thoughts of work are put to rout, By the thoughts of love that come a rushing in.Here's to you 'Varsity fussers: At your home upon the hill You choose your occupation, And go at it with a will. You mayn't get book learn'ng, But you're getting a good stand With a pretty little maiden- Much the sweetest in the land. Some there are who graduate in fussing soon, Others are but Freshmen, green, yet bold. Of those who take out their degrees in June Beginners have each year been taught, I'm told. ' The Juniors, always leaders in the fray, Stand head among the fussers at the "U." ^There's Harold, Banning, Gardiner and Jay, In fussing, sharks-that's mostly what they do.Then here's to you 'Varsity fussers: Though we realize your fault, You're a class of college fellows That we couldn't do without. Here's to co-education: May we ne'er its loss deplore, For without these foolish fussers, College life would be a bore.191 |
