Show UTO NI ANNineteen TwelveScribblers' ClubTO THE student who likes to write, sing, and debate and to the student who likes light acting, finished reading and sociability, the Scribblers' Club holds out more opportunity than any other club in the University. It was organized in 1908 by LaFayette Lentz Butler. Already the club is rich with precedent, too young yet to be called tradition. The history of the past year is as vigorous as ever in the past. At the masque ball, December 2, 1910, the Scribblers carried off the grand prize-a full set of Shakespeare. In February, 1911, the club exceeded all previous efforts at acting in the clever farce by Mr. Butler, "All On Account of Jones." On "U" day the Scribblers defeated the Skull and Bones club in a baseball game.* The seven 'Varsity debaters for 1910-11 came from the Scribblers' Club. At the Vaudeville show on "U" day, the club made a hit with classy and classic songs. A new feature in the way of entertainment was the monthly fest which was so successful that it will become permanent. The year ended with the annual banquet at the Commercial Club.Officers1910 1911President .....................HUGO B.
