Show UTONIAN Nineteen TwelveEngineering SocietyTHIS society was organized in the Engineering School of the University of Utah on December 10, 1900, with twenty-six charter members. During the year it grew to sixty-two. Through succeeding years it has grown with the school, so that now it has a membership of one hundred. It is open to any Engineering student of college standing, who desires to join. Its purpose, as shown by its constitution, is to promote interest in engineering subjects and help create a social spirit among its members.During its ten years of existence it has had its ups and down, like other worthy undertakings. Some years it has been full of life and energy, while at other times it seemed to suffer from lack of spirit. This year, as last, a new interest has been taken, with the results that we have had regular lectures from many of our most successful and prominent engineers. Our society contains a bunch of good lively fellows, always ready to support the school, each other or any other good cause. They are jolly, good fellows, with all the faults and fancies found among real men, and, though some may seem rough to the more "gentle" arts students, they stand for what is high and good and are workers. This year, supported by the teachers of the Engineering Department and the members, the following officers have most successfully "engineered" the society.OfficersB.
