Show U TO NI A NNineteen TwelveEDWIN PETERSON - "Pete" has the greatest assets of any end in school. Not only is he speedy and heady, but he also is heavy enough to play defensive as well as offensive end. Last season he was a little unfortunate. After playing- a brillint game at Logan, he badly sprained his ankle while trying to stop himself quickly out of bounds in the Mines game, which laid him up for the rest of the season. Next fall "Pete" should prove a wonder.Foot Ball Schedule 1910October 8: U. of U. vs. Aggies at Logan. Utah 21, U. A. C. 12THIS is the first time in six years that the Aggies have scored on Utah. The game, being the first of the season, was somewhat ragged. Several new men were tried out, with the result that Coach Bennion was able to get a line on the best players. The Aggies fought hard throughout, but were overpowered.October 15: U. of U. vs. Colorado School of Mines, Golden, at Salt LakeUtah 6, Golden oThis was one of the most spectacular and exciting games of the season, characterized by brilliant individual playing on both sides. The only score was a touchdown in the last three minutes of play.October 22: U. of U. vs. Colorado College at Salt Lake. Utah 17, C. C. 21The "Tigers" got away with the larger end of the score, whether they deserved it or not. As in the Golden game, the playing was largely individual. Both teams were ragged on defense, and both were strong on attack. A seventy-yard run, by "Lon" Romney, set the bleachers wild with glee.168 |
