Show UTO NIA NNineteen TwelveThe University PenTHE "PEN," our ambitious young literary monthly, has come valiantly through its starvation period. When it began, shall I say, to "practice" a year ago last January, its readers were few, its contributions woefully fewer. Thanks to the loyal and successful efforts of those few, however, especially of the eight persons of the Pen staff, the little magazine improved in substance and grew in popularity until this spring it was very worthily made a student body enterprise. Its struggle for bare existence over, the Pen now has more energy to give its own improvement, and bids fair, before many years, to be a powerful stimulus for good, not only to those who aspire to write for it, but to all who read it.Board of EditorsMARGARET E.
