Show U T O N I A NNineteen TwelveCoach Fred BennionIMMEDIATELY following the blaze of glory that marked "Joe" Maddock's coaching- career, Fred Bennion is making good, for he is maintaining the high athletic standards established by Maddock and is striving hard to further the interests of the institution. Although the position is somewhat new to Fred, and the Freshman Rule has handicapped him, Bennion has whipped into shape excellent teams and has gained the confidence of the whole student body.Just five years ago Fred completed a career as one of the "U's" greatest athletes. To this career he owes much valuable experience, an extensive knowledge of our athletic conditions, and a sincere, deep-hearted interest in the welfare of the institution. Absolutely impartial, industrious, patient, and with a thorough understanding of his position, Fred is giving entire satisfaction as a coach. His open and fair dealing, his sociability, and pleasant disposition have won for him numberless friends.With added years of experience and the undivided support of the student body, Coach Bennion promises Utah's athletics unprecedented success.Professor Jacob BolinWITH the coming of a new director, has arrived a thorough revolutionizing of the department of physical education. Dr. Bolin, though a stranger, unacquainted with our western conditions, took hold with a vim and soon had things stirring. The result is a strenuous and much needed course in physical training. His experience and knowledge of gymnastics is a great asset to our school. Those who- have availed themselves of the opportunity to join his classes will testify to the benefits to be derived from a comprehensive course arranged to fulfill all requirements in the building up and strengthening of one's physical condition. Besides being a splendid instructor, Dr. Bolin has won the respect and willing response from his pupils by his alertness, consideration, and impartiality.
