Show UTO N I ANNineteen TwelveThe French CircleALTHOUGH the French Circle has not met this year so frequently as formerly, its gatherings have been of unusual interest, including several trips to foreign lands, and various other instructive diversions. Professor and Mrs. Arnoldson chaperoned us on a tour through Paris, where we visited Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, and the Hotel des Invalides. We took refreshments afterwards at one of the Restaurants Duval. At the home of Helen Hanna we had the opportunity to test our histrionic ability in French charades. Rosamond Ritchie reserved boxes for the Club at the Paris Opera and offered us a very touching presentation of "Malbrouk." On April first, at Bessie Judd's residence, we passed the evening dodging "poisons d'avril," the French form of April fool jokes. Our last meeting of the year, with Ethel Thomas, promises local color in a new and striking form.OfficersPresident . . Vice President. REUBEN SEBASTIANSINCE its organization a few years ago, the German Club continues to prove its worth as a social and educational factor of University life. Its aim not only has been to stimulate conversation, but it has also sought to revive the customs of German life. Its most pretentious effort this year was a Christmas party, where a tree adorned with characteristic toys formed the center of entertainment.True to its ambitious aim, the organization has also staged a German comedy, "English Lessons." The reception of this showed that the Dramatic Club cannot carry off all the laurels.
