Show 5526 Kirkpatrick - C 3536 until they become a complete survey -- evidence of nothing, as far as I see. MR. FARNSWORTH: They are as much official documents nor as they ever will be. MR. BLACKMAR: I understand they are records of the individual surveys. THE WITNESS: That is it exactly, personal private records. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q They are required to file them in your office? A They are not. Q Just happened they got on file there? A They are not on file in the office; they are placed there for safe- keeping by the surveyors for our checking, so we will have some idea of the character of the field, then they go back to the surveyors to use them in the preparation of their official returns. Sometimes the surveyor destroys them, sometimes they retain them. They are in no sense official records. They are subjects to change at all times, until the final field notes are platted and signed by the surveyors. |
