That is the roughest water between the mouth of the San Juan and Lees Ferry. Q How did you through Aztec rapid? A We had to portage some of our stuff, and let the boats down partially light, line them down. Q When did you next go on either the Colorado or the San Juan river? A We went on the Colorado in 1907, our next trip. Q At what point? A At Grand Junction. Q How far down the river did you go on that trip? Westwater railroad station, called westwater, at the head of Westwater canyon. Q Do you recall what time of the year that was? A It was in -- I think in August, August or September. Q Of 1907? |
