BLACKMAR: Q Will you state your name to the court, please. A Walter Everett Mendenhall. Q Mr. Mendenhall, where do you live at the present time? A At lake City, Colorado. Q Just where is that? A Well, it is in the southwestern part of the state, in what is known as the San Juan mine region. Q How old a man are you? A I was seventy years old the first of last March. Q Generally speaking, what has been your occupation since you have grown to manhood? A I have been mining, and mine operator, newspaper man, correspondent, editor, explorer, prospector.
