We had made one considerably larger boat, probably sixteen feet long, and four and a half feet wide. Q How much draft? A When it was loaded it was probably not more than eight inches, maybe ten inches. Q The other boats were how much smaller? A We had one right small boat, twelve- foot boat, a little skiff my father had made; he was on old lake man, and had built lots of boats. He built this specially for one-man service in crossing the river back and forth. Q And the third boat was about how large? A It was probably fourteen feet long; it was made in skiff form. Q Was the fourth a scow? A No; I should have corrected that in regard to the scow; we picked the scow up afterwards. We left it below, and picked it up afterwards.
