A It was about the half- way between a scow and a skiff; we drew the front in, and drew the back in slightly, with a square stern, and went down that way. Q How much draft? A Oh, seven or eight inches, about that our boats of that type would usually carry, that is, with a load. Q Was this also a prospecting trip? A Largely this was exploring. Q Did you do any prospecting between Greenriver and the Mouth of the Green river? A Yes, we prospected down as far as the mouth of the San Rafael. Q Just tell me about your progress down the Green river. A We would go as far as the ice would let us, then we would step until that ice jam would break. When it would break, we would lead up and go again, keep up with the ice. that continued until we got to the mouth of the San Rafael, just below that the ice went out suddenly and altogether, |
