Show Socioeconomic Indicators Education Compiled by Gretchen Ratzlaff and Rebecca Jensen Maw 2002 Utahans over 25 with Bachelor Degrees: There is a well-documented correlation between educational attainment and health. Although higher level of education does not directly lead to improved health care, it is a factor that affects access to, and utilization of, health care services. It can also contribute to a healthier population. Education is a factor that health scientists and demographers examine routinely. Utah continues to be above national average for educational attainment (Figures 1 & 2). hi the surrounding states, Utah ranks second behind Colorado for bachelor degree holders: and second behind Wyoming for high school graduates (Table 1).
