To the Jamajabs who were present I said that they should advise the Yabipais Tejua that there were to come soon padres and Espanoles to the Cocomaricopas, and that therefore they should refrain from injuring the latter, lest they should make themselves enemies of ours. I wondered at the whopping lie with which this Cocomaricopa stuffed us in the report of the murders, when I learned afterward to the contrary. 11 Aug. 14.
